Can't seem to change my FSB

Thread Starter
I'm new to overclocking but have been looking around the board a little bit. I am having a little bit of trouble and I havn't even started.

I overclocked my video card a while ago and that was easy to do and went smoothly.

Trying to do my CPU now is a whole different story. I don't know of any programs I can use to adjust the FSB on the fly so I tried going through BIOS to start inching up the FSB. When I go there I can't do anything. I can't adjust any of the numbers. I do not have a store bought comp so I don't see why it woulod be "locked".

I have a Pentium 4 2.4 Family F CPU.

Here is my CPU-Z layout:

answer...

you have an Intel brand motherboard. intel mobo's do not allow adjusting of the cpu frequencies or voltages...
if you want to OC, go out and buy a decent Asus,Abit,or MSI motherboard...

First, upgrade your BIOS. I don`t know your specs, but this MIGHT work for you. Go to < shuttle.com > and download their BIOS upgrade and XPC Tools software. Both are freeware. I know this will work on a Shuttle computer and several other Intel based boxes. With XPC tools I can adjust fan speeds, FSB, V-core and several other things.

What do I do with it?

I have read that instructional page and got up to the Pll choosing. No too far huh?

My mainboard is this:
ICS 9502XX Intel 845

At this part I get confused because I don't know what to put in the Hex and Binary value slots. Any ideas?

Pic is for reference. My fields are blank.

Okay now I've been to the Shuttle website and there is no page for BIOS upgrades or downloads and no search function. I then found a page that had BIOS updates for most motherboards and I looked at the shuttle section but have no idea what one I would want to be picking.

Hey gusmanchu,

`Sorry to mislead you about XPC Tools. It works only on Shuttle computers, or computers with a Shuttle MOBO (if there is such a comp. that`s not a Shuttle).
