Hello, my buddy plans on building a computer. He has $1200 to spend, and he doesn't need a monitor. What parts should he get? Hes an AMD guy and a GeForce guy. Thanks!

Does your friend plan on gaming like crazy? if not I wouldnt get such a high-end gpu.

Either way, i would suggest a better cpu, maybe better psu (dont trust sunbeam that much) and no need to go fancy on kb/m. Buy a nice combo that works good for like 70 bucs.

Your hard drive should be fine and I'm guessing he has an older system - you might want to take an optical from there and put it on this rig so he has 2 drives.

Wait, you'll need a case and a monitor, too.

Anyway, the suggestion forum is for suggestions about the site, but oh well. >_>

He said he doesn't need a monitor.

I would take the suggestion in the first post, and add a Thermaltake Soprano case. That would be a killer system, for less. Also, maybe bump up the CPU to a 3700+ San Diego.
