AMD Athlon 3700+ (Socket 754)

Thread Starter
What can I do w/ the below setup as far as overclocking. What would be a completely safe OC that would give a bit of a boost but w/ minimal heat and wear on my system? "Safe OC". Attached my CPUZ below.

I would guess 2.6-2.8, but It's just a guess. Just up your HT until you get unstable, then lower it just a bit. That will be your max OC without raising the voltage to the chip.

3700+'s aren't great overclockers. It's going to require a bit of voltage and heat to pull a few hundred mhz out of it (i.e. you'll 'probably' be at 1.6V to stabily get 2500mhz, and you'll 'probably' need to increase the voltage to go higher).

Most of them overclock to at least 2.8 with the right setup, I have seen some that make it in the 2.9ghz.

i believe that although it probably is harder than usual. Clawhammers can take a little extra volt tho, thats whats nice But its 130nm tech as you see and therefore will not overclock too well either.
