A8N32-SLI DELUXE raid problems

Thread Starter
I have recently bought the A8n32-SLI Deluxe and am experiencing problems with my raid0 setup. everytime i try to enter the raid utility i by pressing ctrl+s or F4 i am prompted with the following message: : "No device detected, Utility disabled! Press any key to continue".

My drives are connected to SATA 1 and SATA 2 port on the motherboard and nvidia raid is disabled while the other raid function is enabled. I am upgrading from an ABIT IC7-G motherboard and have therefore not formated the drive as i expected to be able to continue to acces my data on this motherboard.

the drives are 2 WD 120gb. If i connect 1 of the drives to the RAID 2 port located just under the cpu I am able to open the Raid utility but only see the drive connected to that port. The nvidia controller can easily see the drives but I dont think i can run the data using a different controller.

What do i need to do to get my drive with the old data to boot on this new motherboard?

oh hrm just read that you didn't reformat and are just migrating the HDs from a different vendor motherboard. might have to reformat that bud.

Question, did you get into the RAID utility and set the peramaters the same as was in the other MB? A different Stripe Cluster could be at issue.
Then if it does boot you could try a repair, but as most... a fresh install is prefered.

You have no raid drivers/controller installed for the new mb. You are going to have to reformat and use a floppy with /F6 command at the beginning of the install.

DWwwwp. correct, unless he happens to have the same exact chips driving his RAID aray there are none!

I have the same board an I think if you dig around in the BIOS there is a setting to choose between RAID an SATA2 settings for the SATA drives - there are 2 places that this can be set or there is choice to be made for the SATA where they'll conflict.

Or you may have to start up the drives as regular SATA's and then start the RAID setup - oe even with another hard drive all together to get it to boot up to even get into the RAID setup.
