Software jbod?

Is there such a thing as totally software based jbod? I mean, it seems like there should be, it's jsut tacking 2 hd's together, right? I really don't wanna buy new hardware just to make a jbod "array". =P

Some boards, like MSI, support JBOD natively. Check your instruction manual or start up disc. Most companies support with proper software.

EDIT: As a matter of fact, your board supports JBOD

I was also wondering the same thing, it seems most boards do support JBOD with certain RAID configurations.

Sadly, it's not for the board in my specs (that would be too easy), it's for machine 3, which has a chaintech MPM800, which I'm almost certain doesn't support any kind of raid, "fake" or or not natively. =/
