cpu score dropped from 5000 to 500 in 3dmark05

Thread Starter
i dont know if i should've posted here or in benchmarking software thread, but there were more people and it is an amd cpu
So I used to get cpu score of 5300 or something with my AMD 3500+, stock speed. I was software overclocking it with easytuner for my gigabyte k8nxp-sli motherboard and trying to tweak various things.
in the process i used cpuz, motherboard monitor (didnt use it for long as couldnt be bothered trying to fix the reported -19 degrees C temp of CPU . easytuner has cpu temp anyhow.
also overclocked gpu (6800GT) to 391 mhz from 354 (just did the automatic find safe speed button in nvidia options).
also tried to overclock the cpu fsb in the bios, but had no luck getting it to boot, so now is all at normal in bios.
Now I get 5400+ in 3dmark05 for gpu, but 400 - 500 for CPU? what has happened????? anyone experienced this before?

I had something similar happen. It turned out that I needed to update my chipset drivers. Give that a whirl.
