If it's un-do-able thats fine but I think you'd be disappointed with that vidcard.

Very good work on the selections.
The vid card suggestion above is a great improvement if you are a gamer!
Unless you are dead set on a DC, the 3700+ will OC rather well and save you the cash to cover the vid card upgrade and still give you a killer system.

Do you think the Antec SmartPower 500w is enough for overclocking? or should I opt for Antec TruePower 550w?

What about the processor? Should I keep the X2 3800+ or get a Opteron 165 for like $25 more?

the processor is fine but the video card is so bad. get a 6800 series or a 7600gt
post #8 of 12
Yeah, get a 6800 GS or something.. its only 30$ more and wayyyy worth it! otherwise, looks rad.

I dunno, i'm going through the same delema.. i wanna upgrade my cpu(intel 506 2.66 p4, but i can oc it to 3.6ghz stable).... i think i'm going to wait till then and just buy a 9xx series dual core cause they'll be tons cheaper.

I guess if you can wait, I would.
