...I'm confused... Are you talking about DDR RAM speeds or about the HTT speed? If it is the later, I know about the >800MHz stability thing, but my PC seems to be stable on OCCT (at least with the CPU and memory underclocked...) at 3*300. But I don't think I'm going to set it that high since my CPU's max overclock on stock voltage is 253MHz.
I just bought a new floppy for MemTest86. first time I've ever bought one...
And thank you, but I already have Prime95. I haven't used it yet because it takes too long compared to OCCT (it'll be the death of my PC one day ).

EDIT: Alright, I've read Memtest86's readme and run it successfully on my PC. But I have no idea which tests to run (0 to 9). Any advice on which are useless and which are important?
