[Windows 7] Monitor your folding across multiple sites

Thread Starter
Can i get a mod to check this please - i've written it as a tutorial, but i'd like someone to give it the once over and see if they are happy with the process and the post. Thankyou

I been trying to do this for ages, i got a folding farm at my work site and i also fold on my sig rig at my home. I've discussed this in a few threads before, I've had trouble adding my sig rig to my work farm HFM so i can monitor all my progress in one place. Finally i've done it

I can't get the FTP option in HFM to work correctly, i've set up FileZilla server on my sig rig and i can see the HFM pc check the FAHlog.txt bu it won't show the progress. Probably something i am doing. But hey, i think this is easier.

1) Get all machines folding, and set up HFM as per THIS GUIDE

2) Download the Unmanaged versions of LogMeIn Hamachi² which is a free application.

3) Install this all the PCs you wish to be showing in your HFM.
Next > Next > I Agree > Install > Finish

4) Now, if you didn't already, run the app and clcik the power button on the top left as made blatantly obvious by the app.
When asked use your default PC name or a pick a different one.

5) On your first install - Create a new network - and pick a new. Then on all your other PCs use - Join an existing network - and enter the same name you chose.

6) Now we have our connection - it's probably not the quickest, subject to you internet connection, but it is sufficient to transfer
On each computer share your F@H folder, this is the folder that contains the FAHlog.txt

7) Now to get the address for HFM go to Hamachi and right-click the PC you wanna add and click browse - this will open up your connected PC and show your the Folding folder you shared. Enter that folder and copy the address from the bar.
Now you have this you can add the client to HFM as you would normally

Possibly if you press the test connection button it will fail, this is due to timeout and not the address. Best way to test is add the client and give it a minute to update itself.

All done

Hope this helps someone.

Why does it show you as 94k 24hr average when EOC shows you at an avg of 10k?
Your HFM shows you at 120k today alone and Stanfords total for all time shows you at 100k?

Im just curious why those are so out of whack

My figures are currently way out - i've only got my home rig folding properly this morning, and after a getting my office farm running smoothly sum workman went thru the broadband line and left all my machines sitting waiting to upload for a whole weekend

Figures should smooth out over the next week or 2 i think.

He probably left the default username in HFM instead of switching to his. Not that it matters any unless you use hfm to link to your stats page.

HFM is showing the stats for Harlam, who wrote the program

Looks like a great guide, I can't wait to try this out. Thanks!

Ahh, if I had 2 unconnected computers to try this out on, I would. But as it is, I'll wait for some feedback, and if it passes, I'll move it to the guides section.

Nicely done, nonetheless.
