Thread Starter
im not new to overclocking but i never had the chance to try ans flash my video bios. does anyone have an idea of what bios and where to get it. i have a visiontek xtacy x800xt 1.6 AGP 16 pipe and i also have no clue how to flash it. i have read other post on how to do it but consider me a serious noob to flashing. it does handle the xtpe speeds of 520/ 560 any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. oh and im using omega driver 2.6.71 if that helps any

There's no real gains to be had flashing this card with a new bios that overclocking with ATITool wouldn't do.

If you are flashing it to unlock the extra 4 pipes it will be worth it but you may end up flashing back as the pipes my be defective and give you problems.

it already has 16 pipes but was wondering if xtpe bios would give me a better overclock than 520/560
i thought that if u flash to xtpe would give u 520 560 and then ull be able to clock higher than that .cuz 520 560 seems to be as high as i can go with the stock bios.

No, the bios won't affect the max stable clock speeds I'm afraid.

Depending on your temps, better cooling might help. Also, check the 12v rail of your psu to see if that is dipping significantly under 12v when overclocking.
Other than that, a volt mod would be the only other way of increasing the clock speeds further than they are now.
