First Desktop Gaming Build - Progress and Need Help Log

Well Its my 16th Birthday this coming Thurs and I have gone through selling props that i owned and electronics to fund up about $1100 and im getting the rest through my birthday.
This is gonna be my First ever desktop build as well as my own personal desktop. Ive been using labtops for the past few years and im wanting to get into PC Gaming.

Gonna be ordering these parts off of Newegg tommorrow or monday and gonna be building it the day I get them. I have gotten so many help from this place and so I know that im gonna run into some trouble along the way (I really hope not) so im hoping if i do i can post it up here and get some help

To Start Off this "Log" the parts that im buying:

  • Use: Gonna be used everyday and will be used for hours each day.
  • Will be used for gaming. Steam Value Games, Modern Warfare 2, BFBC2, etc
  • Will be watching HD Movies on this.
  • Web Browsing and YouTube Watching.
  • I WILL be overclocking this. But not by so much.
  • NOT gonna be SLI'ing anytime soon. Maybe in a year or two. Dont really need to ATM.

getting the i7 is super pointless because hyperthreading won't help you in gaming and I don't think your going to do anything else intense besides that i would go with i5-760

I was waiting for someone to say that. Im 99% sure that I was gonna go with a i5 760 but I get can the i7 860 for $220 which is $10 more then the i5 760. And hyper threading wont hurt me.

WOOHOO! Completed the Build and it just booted up! Ran into some booting problem but it was the Ram not being all the way in. Im very excited. Was my first build and im glad its working now! Thanks to EVERYONE that helped me in my other topic.

Grats man! Its so dam rewarding finishing your first build!

I finished mine, and wouldnt boot, and after a week of diagnosing every problem possible I figured out that my mobo was sent to me with damaged socket pins >.< But I got a GA board and now its up and running!
