from a google search, it is supported by the 2.6.x kernels, even the dlink site says it is supported in linux.

what is the exact problem you are having? is it not detected or you just can not connect to the interent?

run ifconfig and see if a lan0 is showing, if you don't have a lan0 or eth0 then it's probably drivers or configuration

i'm not in linux atm so I can't tell you more details =P I just know ifconfig will list all available network adaptors

Do this and see if any devices show up.

Try and manually start it with:

Code:
ifup eth0
if eth0 is your lan device.

It may not be in your bash. It should be located in your /sbin, so try

Code:
/sbin/ifup -eth0
But first, let's see if it has your hardware listed.

Code:
/sbin/ifconfig

Yeah you have to use ifconfig first so you (and us) can see what hardware you need to run ifup with. You just can't assume ifup eth0 because many distro's might implament a different approach, though generally if there is no eth0 there is no device.

lsdev will list all devices

cat /proc/*

that is used with a specific name, such as:

cat /proc/version

this gives you your linux version

cat /proc/cpu

this lists cpu info

All in all you need to know what's in your /proc before you can find information by using the cat command, and I'm not on linux atm so I can't tell you what should give you information about your network devices. anyone got more specific? google brought up "cat /proc/net/dev" but I'm not sure.

I'm saying all this because if it's not listed in dev it's not being loaded into the kernel (via modules aka drivers) and so it would be a driver issue.

I'll go ahead and leave you some more info.
If ifconfig gives you nothing. Check to see if it's listed in your pci devices.

Code:
/sbin/lspci -m
Look for your network controller.

Try to find if your kernel has a driver for your NIC.
Code:
/sbin/lspci -n | grep "$(/sbin/lspci | awk '/net/ { print $1 }')" | cut -d' ' -f3
that should print out an identifier for your NIC in the form XXXX:YYYY. It can be numbers or letters.

Code:
grep -i XXXX /lib/modules/*/modules.alias | grep -i YYYY
Search for that string by replacing your Xs and Ys with whatever the previous command gave you. That should display a driver for your NIC.
