the card has a huge fan, so is it possible to overclock it to xt speeds with the current fan it has, and not hurt my card

Aslong as you watch you Temps you should be able to do some overclocking i dont know about reaching XT speeds though ..you may need to get an even better aftermarket cooler first such as the ''ATI SILENCER''

This is a good point as if you are on PCI-E then if you found you could get to XT speeds stable then you could flash your card to an XT but i could be wrong.

no he wouldn't be able to flash over to an xt, since the x1600pro only has a 128 bit mem bus, as opposed to a 256 on the x1600xt...I think.

No from what i know the PRO and XT have both got a 128mb ringbus the only difference is that the XT is 256mb onboard memory.

i think that the best you can is oc the card to the max speeds you can reach... nothing more...
