Unlocking my BIOS

hi, i am really new at this and trying it for the first time, i have and older dell computer, dimension l600r which i ressurrected and trying to overclock it, my problem is the bios which does not allow me to do any mods, any suggestions on how to unlock it. please help.

and you wont be able to OC with it

well that is unless you have an unlocked intel CPU
but they are rare

by tha way

i dont get it why cant you oc on intel boards ???

The answere to this is that they lock out the Overclocking options in the bios chips and the options can never be unlocked as such. You can software overclock but there is not much point as software oc's are very unstable IMO.

intel mobos lock the frequency gererator on the motherboard
and intel processors laser cut the multiplier changer, except for ES and EE ones

so thats how some of the guys here have changed the multipleir setting to 15X becuase they have the other ones hmmmmmmmmmmm........that explains it to me

Yep simple as the ES and EE Intel Cpu's can have there multi changed.
