The introduction of the team folding competition helped to get our numbers up. If anyone has any good ideas for beefing up our ranks, please PM me. We do have a limited budget, so offering more prizes is not an option at this time, and making folding mandatory also will not fly. Most anything else is on the table, though.

We could start a new thread in every other forum on the board describing folding and what its goals are along with how to join our team and the benefits of joining our team. If this is ok we need to make the threads catchy and interesting.

Once i get another wireless modem thingy for my old computer ill be folding on my old pIII 600mhz also, i know its not much but its an addition to my current rig. Oh and i have a question, it seems as if the points arent being counted on the forum, is there a reason for this?

I Will admit i have stopped folding due to temps but they are sorted now..Even though i dont like leaving my Computer on im going to start folding for you guys again.

My computer is literally ALWAYS on, I had to turn it off yesterday to remount my big typhoon due to high temps (I guess in my anxiousness to get this Pentium D 930 I wasn't thinking and put almost a 1/8" thick layer of AS5 on there LMAO! my temps are 8-10c lower now) but before that my computer had been on for 17 days straight (since I got the Pentium D and had to turn it off and put that in along with my new RAM, MOBO and GPU that was a good day....

Hi Remonster,

I'm in complete agreement with you. My computers in the house are all on 24/7. It would be a shame not to have them folding. The summer has me a little worried though. The house is A/C'd as of last year, but all of my computers are in rooms upstairs, and room temps stay about 70degF.
I don't have those "Ocean Breezes" like you do! lol
So... maybe water cooling is next up. The XP-90 helped by 5degC over the Zalman 7000Cu...

Hey, 455buick, 70F is about the standard temp in my house all year

IMHO, even if you don't leave your system on 24/7, there is so much wasted on your system when you're just surfing the web or listening to music or anything. Especially on the type of high power systems people like us use.

Just folding whenever you have your computer on is still better than nothing and a great help to the advancement of science.

Try dealing with temps in an Aussie Summer when it hovers around the 40 C mark for almost 3 months. That can be a problem, you uninstall speedfan and just dont deal with it. Lower your vcore and hope everything is going to be OK
