Yes, changing the subject from Mass Effect, to the Witcher, to me. That's not explaining anything lol, all you've done is drag this thread down even further and demonstrate your narrow-mindedness.

You still haven't understood the concept of opinion I see. It's true that I didn't like the combat mechanics of The Witcher, but that doesn't mean others don't. Plus, this is a Mass Effect thread, so I don't know why you keep bringing The Witcher into it.

ME has great all around gameplay, and there's much more to gameplay than just combat mechanics. This is another thing you fail to understand, and this is why you're still so confused. To you, Mass Effect is the same as Gears of War.

I always have the same problem with ME3 in the beginning: it asks you to press the any key, and I can't find the any key on my keyboard. wink.gifbiggrin.gif

With all 3 games for less than the price of 1 game, why would you not play through the whole series? If you don't have the time to devote to playing through the entire series, there are plenty of other games to play/discuss that are prefect for casual gamers: Call of Duty, Battlefield, Crysis, Tomb Raider, etc. As far as graphics are concerned, Max Effect 1's graphics really are not that bad and it certainly did not take away from the rest of the game, for me at least. And Mass Effect 2 looks almost the same as 3.

If I remember correctly, importing saves doesn't give your character that much of a power advantage. Importing the save from a previous Mass Effect game mostly just allows you to continue the storyline with decisions you have made, such as who lives/dies and your character's looks and personality (Paragon/Renegade). I believe though, at the start of the game, you still are given a preset amount of skill points to assign to your lead character as well as you can pick what class he/she is.
In any case, it seems to me like your problem might be your team's lack of skill diversity. I would highly recommend having a biotic on your squad. If you have Ashley, she is also quite good if your main character is not a soldier (and even if you are a soldier, she's still helpful to have around, I thought anyway). I loved her cluster grenade (or was that James' ability? Lol.).

If you do not import a character, then you will not be able to accumulate enough Paragon/Renegade points to make certain decisions, which can greatly alter the outcome of certain situations.

Yes, I have noticed that: when talking, certain responses are greyed out. I may just play it from the beginning as it is a story.

BTW, if you hack the game, and give your character more than 1 romantic interest, you end up going to bed with one person, and waking up with the other person.

Well, for starters, I had no idea you could buy all 3 for a discounted price. Also, I just found out about this game, so I got the 3rd and played from there. I played it until the end - didn't like the ending, like a lot of other people.

But I played as a soldier only - no abilities. I want to play the game as another type with heavy emphasis on abilities.

Nut I played as a soldier only - no abilities. I want to play the game as another type with heavy emphasis on abilities.

I highly recommend you start from the beginning. Infiltrator is fun if you like sniping. Vanguard is pretty fun if you like shotguns and close range fighting. If you want to go all out with abilities, Adept is a great class. It's a little hard at the very beginning, but you become super powerful later on. I'm playing through ME3 on Insanity as an Adept and I barely have to use my guns lol.

If you do start with ME1, it's gonna be quite a bit different than 3. Certain classes are trained on certain weapons only, and all other weapons are practically useless. For example, Soldiers are trained on all weapons, and can use them all right away. Infiltrators are trained on sniper rifles and pistols. Adept aren't trained on anything at first, which is what makes them hard to play in the early game. The other big difference is gonna be inventory. There are weapon mods, ammo types, armors, grenades, weapons, armor mods, etc. You pick up a whole lot of them, so you have to manage your inventory pretty well since you have a limit on how much you can carry. Also either you or a teammate needs to have electronics/hacking ability pumped up, since there are a lot of things you have to "hack" to open. They're optional mind you, but you can get some good stuff sometimes, and if you want to 100% complete the game it's a must.

If you do end up playing, feel free to ask questions. I've played ME1 four times, ME2 four times, and ME3 three times. I've played the entire series through in a row importing characters three times.

Lol yep. Pull/Singularity and then hit with Warp/Throw. Awesome. I usually use Singularity and then hit them with Throw, since my Throw hits two targets.
