HAF-X issues with dead mobo and burned firewire chip - Page 7

I checked mine and I can definitely see how the board might have rubbed the insulation off, but mine was okay. There appears to be a gap between my wires on the board so it didn't rub at all and wear through the insulation. They should consider shortening the pins on the back of the PCB for the front connectors. Those sharp barbs aren't doing them any good.

Interesting...my HAF932's front panel is putting out 6.4V across the USB Power+ and Power -, i had tried two old flash drives in it, and both did not function, I assumed they were dead, but I think it may be a problem with the front panel's PCB.

Did you check the bottom of the front panel?

The pins are really sharp, and the can get into the isolation of a few front header cables (Reset/Power)

I tried putting heatshrink on but that didn't allow for the front panel to be put back, so I'm waiting for a replacement.

Same. The pictures of the PCB in this thread don't look too abnormal, but I'd still have a go with some snips on the ends of those leads if they're too long.

I've been contacted by Coolermaster after they noticed my posts on various forums and I already received new front panel via DHL. I have checked PCB and they managed to "fix" the problem with inserting some kind of plastic between sharp pins and wires from LED and RESET switches.

Since I had burned mobo together with my DV OUT on camcorder, CoolerMaster offered me to order any article from their products for free. This is really good move from CoolerMaster and I will continue to buy their products since they acted very fair towards me... BRAVO COOLERMASTER!!!
