Thread Starter
I have it runnging stable(folding for 12 hours) at 2.8 with 1.7vcore. Can I go higher or is this the max? Its loading at 35C with 21c ambient.

I'd say stop at 1.7. That kind of voltage is really pushing the limit. Much more and I'd expect you'd have a dead CPU in a few months.

what you could probably do is burning the CPU in. this means running CPU intensive apps like Prime95 for like 12 hours and this will allow you to lower the vcore and keep the same OC stable. i did this and was able to lower my vcore from 1.584v to 1.54 in 2 days. i left Prime running for 24 hours though.

i think you might be ok leaving it at 1.7v for about 24 hours with Prime then lowering to 1.68v or so. go down in small increments and repeat. its a long tedious process, but it will help with future overclocks.

1.7vcore won't hurt it with the cooling your using, I have a 3700+Newark at 1.71vcore on air for about a year now, with good cooling you should be ok.
