Greatness, I'll just quote myself to answer your thief question :

Quote:
Okay there is two way to get inside the Thief Guild. First way is to go in the Imperial City, when your there, look for the wanted poster of a guy name "Gray Fox", they are a bit everywhere in the city and are not too hard to find, once you found one you'll get a new Discussion subject; Gray Fox. Now you need to find a beggar, anyone who ask you for coin when you pass by. Once you find a beggar, use your speechcraft to increase its disposition to the maximum and give him a coin, once this is done, ask him about Gray Fox and he should ask you if you want to see him, tell him that yes you do and you want to work with him and the beggar will give you new indication on how to contact the thief guild. If he dont say that, try to bribe him to increase his disposition and retry until the "Gray Fox" subject is gray out (when the subject are Gold that mean they still have something to say about this subject but dont trust you enough to say everything about it). Once this is done you'll have to go at a meeting at midnight, just follow the marker on your map, you'll then enter in a competition with three other Thief wannabe, the best way to get what you need is to follow the girl Elf, she go directly to the house of the guy you need to steal, the Journal is in a drawer on the other side of the house, move straight from the door and get it before she does, then bring it back to the Doyen and voila, you are now a Pickpocket of the thief guild.

The second way is to get arrest for a crime, any crime will do, and go to jail, once you served your sentence there is a chance that a Thief Guild messenger give you a letter with description of what you need to do to get inside the Thief Guild. The latter dont alway happen and remember that everytime you go in jail, you loose skill point (or win some if the randomly chosen affect skill are security and sneak..), also it can take a few hour before the messenger get to you, so you better of with the beggar way.

Now that you are a thief guild member you have access to a fence to sell your stolen stuff, yipee
Also, waitting after each fight is NOT a good idea, you should alway use your magical spells to heal yourself, if you dont you'll never get restoration skill up so unless you want to rely solely on potion you better never do that, its better to wait for mana then having 5 inr estoration at level 50

Yea I remembered what you said, I just didnt remember that it was sleeping not waiting when they came too you. I forget sometimes since I am on here at work and by the time I get home I try to forget I was ever at work. Also I was arrested and I went to jail got out and went to sleep and didnt get a message, I didnt kill anyone then I just attacked someone but I never got a note from anyone, is it possible I missed it? Can I recover it?

I use my powers when there are enemies near by as well as when I am in a fight, since I only have heal minor wounds right now which doesnt really look like it does much this was the only way out plus I was scared man and heck it worked, plus you get more magik so you can heal yourself more and more during your next battle. Not only that but I am kinda impaitent as far as waiting for my magik to recharge so I can do a minor heal, I will try to steal a better power so I can use it more in the future and build that skill up like you said.

I bought it today Runs like a pig though

I got invited into the Thieves guild, I'm waiting till midnight to give someone a stolen diary, then I'm in I don't dare go to sleep incase someone steals it back off me and its only 6am! I've got 18 hours to waste in the Imperial city :/

I've been out to Chorrol to see Jaffre...the monk guy. I got a horse from them and headed as far south as Skingrad then turned back because everyone I met except guards was trying to kill me...I stole another horse to see if it was different to the one I had, got stopped by a highwayman who told me to give up my gold. I told him where to stick it and he attacked me, in the fight I must have hit the horse because it started attacking me too, then a damn wolf came and joined in the "kill muffin" super happy fun time. I killed the guy and the wolf but the damn horse to ages to kill! I used up all my healing potion and took refuge in a farmhouse at one point, but it wouldn't let me rest because I was trespassing

First Chopes, well I dont have any house yet, I use Guilds building to sleep for the moment since I'm broke, higher level spells cost expensive, but every town have a house to sell (except peharp Kvatch... I dont think their is any house left in there )

Then Greatness, having only minor healing is another good reason why you should heal yourself with spells so you can get the better, more potent, restoration spells, just use the spell when you travel or when your in town if you really dont want to use it close of monster, you gain Experience on any "self" spells even if your not in combat so dont be affraid to use it in town. Second, The Dark Brotherhood isnt the same as the Thieve Guild The Dark Brotherhood are the one that require you to kill someone and they are the one who come to talk to you when you go to sleep. The Thieve Guild is the opposite, they dont want you to kill people, in fact if you kill people during a thief mission you'll get expulse of the guild and you'll have to pay the Blood penality. The Thief guild will contact you after you go out of jail (not escaping, escaping of jail dont count), with a messenger while you're awake, this can take from 10 sec to many hours depending of where you were jailed.
Its easier to simply talk to a beggar if you ask me, at least you're sure that you actually activated the Thief Guild quest.

Muffin I suggest you go take a "passive wild life" mod on the forum of elder scroll mod section until a "variable aggression" mod get release so that wild life such as bears or wolf dont attack you on sight, in my opinion its rather stupid to see a non-provocked attack from a bear, particulary if the damn bear is ready to run after you for a mile while you were traveling on your horse minding your own business lol

Humanshield I'd say that its your CPU that isnt strong enough
