I am pretty sure the game levels at the same rate as you, so when you are level 1 the rats are level 1, when you reach level 20 the rats are also at level 20. If anyone at level 20 is getting owned by rats it is because they "power leveled", increasing their level but not the important combat or magic skills.

I forget where Jauffre is, but just check your map and look for the arrow. Also you can check your current quests when you go into the map tab.

I am also a Khajat, awsome stealth and marksman, I would suggest finding a bow and then shooting and running, it is what I do and I hardly take any damage, I actually sold all my healing potions
Thanks! That's awesome. So all the people out at night are bandits? I was wondering why everyone was so unfriendly. How long does the night last? Is there an in-game clock I should pay attention to? Also, being a khajat, sis your night vision automatically activated or do you have to turn it on? I arm myself with the bow and run backwards while shooting. It took me like 20 headshots to kill one of those horse-mounted guards.

The clock is in the map from the tab menu. Also if there are no enemies around you can hit the T key and it will let you wait. You can choose how long you want to wait. That way you can travel in the day. Or you can lick the place off of your map and travel automatically.

Time is a 24 hour day, so it is the same as "real" time. You can check the time in the tab menu, it is at the top of the map tab I believe. The night vision is a spell that lasts for 60 seconds, but it uses no magika so you can cast it as much as you want. Just click on the magic icon at the tab screen and set it, then press c to cast, I find it pretty much useless though. Not all people are bandits, just the ones trying to kill you. The guards are really tough, they take a lot to kill.

Hence the quotations around "real"

But yes standard time, only faster for the game.

Not EVERYONE is an enemy at night dont go berserk on everyone you see you'll get in trouble. The best way to get a horse is not by stealing them, when you steal an horse its not yours and you'll need to re-steal it each time you go in a town, you can also get a big bounty on your head for doing this. The best way to get a horse is to do the first part of the main quest, go see Jauffre, once the quest changed to "find the heir" re-talk to him and ask for Assistance, he'll open a chest, re-talk to him and ask again for Assistance, then he'll say that you should go talk to the priest with him. Do so, the priest are either in the Chapel or in the other building where there is beds. Ask them for Assistance and one of them will give you his horse, a Paint Horse, and voila you have a horse for yourself that will wait for you when you go off him (which stealing one dont do) leaving you time to raid dungeon without being scared to loose him.

Those who complain about Scalling level in the forum are just idiots who powerleved their way through Morrowind to do the main quest and now that they play a game which have level scalling, like any decent RPG out there, they cant do anything because they dont have any skills (both skills in-game and out-game) and instead of spending sometime to learn how to use properly the fighting system or how to use their character they decide to just go flood the Bethesda forum with their opinion about how much the game suck. You CAN do the main quest at ANY level, YES it will be harder at higher level but it wont be impossible, there is no such thing as "impossible". (There, I removed all the filthy words I used in the first post I did to respond to that but it got deleted, tss virgins ears )

The way level scalling work;
Most humanoid (Bandits, Vampires, Marauders, Conjurers, Necromancers etc.) are leveled to you, as you increase in level these ennemies increase in strength in same time as you.
Most creatures are generated from leveled lists, that mean each time you enter a dungeon the game check your level and populate the dungeon accordingly to your level. Think of it like a list of encounter ennemie a GameMaster would roll when you enter in a forest and get a random encounter in Dungeon and Dragon. This mean that a dungeon that was populate with Skeleton and Ghost at level 4 might be populated with Wraiths and Skeleton Champion at level 20.

Humanoids: There is no "different" version of these, instead they just increase level as you do, in general humanoids are from 1 to 4 level bellow you, that mean if you are level 15, the weakest humanoid you'll see in general will be level 11 while the stronger will be level 14. They are exception such as "boss" who are 1-3 level higher then you.

Creatures: In general, creatures are NOT leveled to you, an Ancient Ghost is alway level 9 and has 170 hits point no mather at which level you encouter it. But you're most likely to meet him at level 10, and very rarely at level 20. They are of course exception, you can sometime meet a creature which is leveled up. Quest specific creature are alway leveled up. Instead the game pull them of from a list specific to your level. They can also be classed in "type" of creature, so when you enter a Tomb you're most likely to find zombies then to find Brown Bears. Here is a list of the creature when they are non-leveled, this can also give you a rough idea of at which level you can expect to see them:

Beast Lair ------------
Level Creature
1 Rat
2 Wolf
6 Timber Wolf
9 Black Bear
12 Mountain Lion
16 Brow Bear

Daedra----------------
1 Stunted Scamp
5 Scamp
5 Clannfear Runt
7 Flame Atronach
11 Clannfear
13 Frost Atronach
14 Daedroth
16 Spider Daedra
17 Storm Atronach
20 Xivilai (alway level with you)

Demora---------------
1 Dremora Churl
6 Dremora Caituff
9 Dremora Kynval
12 Dremora Kynreeve
15 Dremora Kynmarcher
19 Dremoa Markynaz
22 Dremora Valkynaz (alway level with you)

Goblins---------------
1 Goblin
6 Goblin Skirmisher
8 Goblin Berserker
13 Goblin Shaman (alway level with you)
18 Goblin Warlord (alway level with you)

Mythic Enemy--------
1 Imp
6 Troll
9 Will-o-the-Wisp
10 Spriggan
12 Minotaur
15 Land Dreugh
16 Ogre (alway level with you... and they hurt)
18 Minotor Lord (alway level with you, and hurt very mucho )

Undead--------------
1 Skeleton
1 Zombie
1 Ghost
6 Skeleton Guardian
8 Headless Zombie
9 Ancient Ghost
10 Skeleton Hero
12 Faded Wraith
14 Dread Zombie
15 Skeleton Champion
16 Wraith
17 Nether Lich
21 Gloom Wraith (alway level with you)
23 Lich (alway level with you)

Count from up to 4 level bellow yours to 3 level more then yours and if the level of the creature listed above is or is inbetween the number given previously you'll have a higher chance to meet this creature then other. There are variation of each of these monster (exemple you can find Savage Troll or whatever.)

Krunk, here is a full description of the Alchemy screen:

Having at least ONE positive effect, this will be a potion that does me fire damage when I drink it.

Wow +REP george!

Question though, im trying to level up alchemy, the only way to level it up is make potions and stuff? Secondly, the only way to level up blade is by "blading" other people correct?

On another note, For some reason my game randomly crashed at the begining, and now for some reason it is starting again after like a week randomly its starting. Whats up with that?
