Must replace ASUS

Thread Starter
I've reached the end of my rope. (gag) Now, unless someone knows WHY a system would self reboot after an hour of idling, I am currently looking for the best MOBO you guys think is made. It must be compatible with my hardware list, and I will only be using ONE video card. It CAN NOT BE ASUS! I don't care to overclock as much as I want reliability. Please give me your best shot.

Yes I know my board is still under warranty, I DON'T CARE. IT MUST GO.

Don't do that unless you can prove that it's the mobo. It could be the power supply, the RAM, and it could even be a software problem. Have you ruled all that out?

It could be a few things.
PSU overheats shuts down.
CPU overheats shuts down.
It may not be the mother board.
And because you are having problems doesnt automatically mean that ASUS is bad.
Since this is the first time Ive ever heard of this, its not like ASUS boards are riddled with problems.
In fact the majority of asus users are quite happy with the boards they get.

Sounds more like a tired PSU to me. If you have a extra one available somewhere try it and check if the problem still persists.

Yup, pretty much. The system reboots and then locks up saying it's BAD BOOT DISK. Yet I've changed both the HD and the OS. And I've had booko problems with this board in the past and thought I was done screwing with it. But know, Im ready for a new board.

Could be an IRQ error. Or, is your PC set to standby after an hour? It could be an error with the power management driver if that's causing it to restart.

Have you ruled out any Virus problems.

I had a bad virus problem and my comp would restart when idling. I would say to reformat your HDD and if it's still happening then I would go on to another component
