Dont start that high

FSB @ 225 and then go up from 5Mhz each time.

Leave your HHT alone..

My advice would be to throw a divider in to rule out your memory. Push your processor until it becomes unstable and then try to get your memory to the highest frequency you can in conjunction with your processor. Focus on one issue at a time, don't make a lot of adjustments at one time.

Set the HTT to auto or 3 if you are going to go over 250 FSB. Your total FSB times your HTT should not exceed 1000MHz. Some motherboards will perform up to 1100MHz, but this is a general rule.

Take things one item at a time. That would be the biggest advice. In case something did not work or caused stability issues you will know exactly what to correct. Good luck, and "Welcome to the REAL world".

if your OC'ing try and get some RAM better than PC3200. And try and get some ram that is TCCD.

oh, and 4*512 will be better than 2*1024 because 1gig chips have looser timings than 512 chips.

Actually 4x512MB can only run a command rate of 2T by default which sets it back to begin with. Then having all of the memory slots filled taxes your memory controller, causing yet another complication. People with this sort of configuration have difficulty getting even an average overclock. You might be able to run tighter timings with 512MB modules. Higher MHz > tighter timings, in relation to performance. An individual would be far better off getting 2x1GB.

what does this mean?

Raise your memory timings, and/or change your CPU/memory ratio so that your memory’s FSB is always at/below it’s rated speed. This should insure that your memory won’t be limiting your FSB, just your mobo.

my rams timing 2.5-3-3-6?
my cpu 200
mem 200

so i should put my mem at something like 166?

Correct in part. This way you can rule out your memory as far as your processors overclockability. If your processor is running at 2.5GHz and you memory is set at a 166 divider (.83) then your memory will run at 207MHz because you cpu multiplier is 10.

Example my HTT (FSB) is set to 353 with a multiplier of 8 producing 2824MHz total frequency. My memory is set at a 140 divider, so a 353 HTT x .70 gives me 247MHz. This may be a little confusing, so for right now just throw in a divider and see how far you can push your processor.

ok this is what i did and it failed.
put my hammer fid to 7x
put my mem on 166
and up the vdd to 1.6 and
up the FSB 10 mhz

and my system wouldent show on the screen so i had to use the jummper things on the mobo to reset the mobo

any help?

What is hammer fid to 7x?

Set your bios to default settings, and leave voltages at stock. Set your memory to 166 like you did and increase your HTT(FSB) to what you tried before.

Remember what I said do, one adjustment at a time. As you increase your processor frequency and start to become unstable, then increase you VCore incrementally. Until you reach the point of unstability do not mess with the VCore.

Edit: What type/brand of PSU is that? Only 350 Watt PSU with your setup may be suspect, may not be enough juice. What type of voltages do you have on your rails? +12v should be +12 volts (ie 12.23 volts), +5v should be +5 volts (ie 5.14 volts), -5v should be -5 volts and so on. How many amps does your PSU spec for on the +12v rail? 30 amps and above is preferable, if less then 20 amps it will imit your overclock.
