Guide: Using RT Seven Lite (Windows 7 stripping tool) - Page 3

I just stumbled onto this and have a simple question. Before I ask I would like to say that I legally bought an OEM copy of windows 7 home edition and it is currently installed on my sig rig(CD-key locked to it).

Now am I to understand that I could make a custom install CD *for my sig rig* and it will activate with my current OEM CD key? I like to "keep things fresh" on my sig rig and do a lot of uninstalling and re installing and re tweeking of windows 7. It would be nice if I could just "edit" the windows install CD a bit. Thanks and hope my question clear and understandable.

Even though your CD-Key is "Locked In" per say, you should still be able to see it with Speccy from Piriform.

I can see it, I know what the key is I have the OEM Widnows 7 case, CD and sticker. Let me be a little more specific.

As you know my OEM CD key is a "one PC only" key "locked" to my sig rig. I wanted to know if I could use the RT 7 Lite and strip down windows some and still have it activiate on my sig rig with my old OEM code?

Yes that is definitely possible. You will need to extract the files from the OEM Windows 7 Disc that they supplied you with. Once that is done, when you start up RT Seven Lite you will point it to the folder that you extracted the file to instead of searching for an ISO. When you get to the last section you can input the CD key and select the correct OEM information from the drop downs. that is, if you would like it to automatically enter that information in for you. If not, you can keep that part as default and enter in the information manually when going through the setup process.thumb.gif

So the CD key is tied to the actuall CD too? if so I made a massive mistake two days ago....

EDIT: Never mind, I reread your post and actually comprehended it this time. You where saying I have two options in my situation.
1) Supply 7 lite with my CD key and other info and it can automatically intergrate that info to the custom install disk
or
2) Leave those options blank on 7 Lite and enter it all in when I do the install.

That's brilliant to say the least! Thank you!

I treid your guide, but the "integration" tab is grayed out, and as soon as I select the OS it starts extracting it straight away with out giving me the option to ingrate the updates I downloaded.

I would HIGHLY recommend you try WinToolkit. It's newer, easier to use, and has more options.
