Standoffs?

Thread Starter
Maybe I'm using the wrong search words, but I'm trying to locate 3" brass standoffs for a test bench I want to make. Google only shows me 3/4" standoffs. Any help will be very appreciated!

Thanks!

what i used were 4 inch #6 32 screws. then i got 1 inch nylon spacers and put 2 on each screw. the motherboard sits 2 inches off the base and leaves enough room to get underneath just in case.

I could get 4" #6-32 nylon screws, nuts and spacers at the hardware store.

Is nylon conductive?

Do your 4" post come out the other end of the nylon spacers and touch surface. I'd like to stay away from that unless I'm using a non-conductive material. Cause I do the safety dance!

if you see the pic closely you will see there are nuts that touch the motherboard. #6 32 nuts screwed down all the way to the wood to hold the screws tight, 2 nylon spacers then another nut to hold those down.

all hardware screws, nuts and nylon spacers for $11.00
then if i want to be more secure i have 4 brass knurled nuts that i screw down on all four corners of the board to secure it.

been perfect with a Rampage Formula, UD3P, UD3L, P5N32-E all using water, Dry Ice and Air.

Damn, McMaster-carr has lots of nice things. The Standoffs I have are 71.5mm in length. MMC's longest is 31mm. Unless I'm missing some place with longer standoff listings?

Thanks for the help, if you happen to come across 71.5mm standoffs shoot me a link. Again, thank you!

Anyone know where I can find larger size brass standoffs? I read somewhere that my Case brass standoffs (or integral) must have body length of 5/16" MINIMUM. You must keep the mobo as far away from chasis as possible. The ones that came with my mobo are not a minimum of 5/16. I called mircrocenter and they didn't have them.
