This.

If you were really looking to kill your render times, quadro's the way to go assuming your app will suppourt it.

The new 6000 series is pretty intense.

This is probably going to sound reeally weird, but the gtx 480 / 580 is actually more powerful than that $4000 Quadro. Since both cards are based on the same architecture, they are almost identical physically, the only difference being that the Quadro has 6GB of memory. (I'm obviously not lacking in this area since I already have 48GB ). Because of this there is actually a software mod that you can do to the gtx 480 / 580 to make it so it performs like a Quadro in many of the apps that I use.

Thanks for catching that, I meant to say 6 1TB drives not 500GB

Awesome build!
I do not have time to search through your 105 pages(i saw everything on the first page atleast ). So i ask here: Have you posted any pictures of your 7 monitor setup?
I'd love to see how you are set up with that many monitors. Have built a stand for my measly 3 monitors myself, so it would be awesome to see someone with 7!

Since i couldnt find any info on your editing on the first page(read this entire question before you pummel me with links and quotes on yourself!) I ask here again. When did you start with this editing? How long have you been doing this? Does one have to have a "gift" in order to be as good as you are with this, or is it something someone could pull off if they had enough time on their hands? Not to say if they had a decent computer to do so.

Lastly. I hope you understand my questions. I am norwegian, so i use that as an excuse for my poor english vocabulary

You can run more than 5 monitors, 3 monitors on the SLi config and 2 on the 460. Unless you have a splitter witch I doubt
