You can run up to 2 monitors off one Nvidia card. So he could have up to 8 monitors if he wants

The one and only RED EPIC. It can shoot up to 28k LOL.

For my personal non-school related films, I use an EOS 7D.

I've never heard of anything over 5k, even for the Epic, that's why I am curious. Any chance of pointing me in the right direction so I can read up on it? Thanks.

I must be missing something since everything I have read on the Red, no pun intended, site lists 5k for the Epic. Did your studio get pre production models?

Yes, only their previous models shoot in 5k.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you have to call them by phone if you want to order anything more than the standard EPIC - It's a big deal at that point.

The Epic on their site is the new one, currently being hand machined and only a handful have been made and delivered. That is listed at 5k everywhere I have read about it for the last several months. Peter Jackson and John Schwarztman are the only two that I have read about that are actually filming or soon to film with this new camera. Supposedly filming for the next Spiderman movie started on Dec. 6 using these cameras. There are only a few of them out there.

The first article in the above links is from March 2009 and it isn't from a camera related source. They mention 28k as top resolution but I think that the info Red has on it's site is more accurate. Perhaps someday it will be 28K, but not now.
