Is the OP going to produce a movie with his rig or what?

I think this rig has quite a bit of potential if it's real.
To the OP, I would suggest getting an AMD (ATI) FirePro V8800 Workstation Graphics Card
It's a lot cheaper than an equivalent nVidia Quadro, but the performance is just as good.
Zomg, I have it and it totally destroys pretty much every Application I throw at it.
It's compatible with almost every kind of DCC (Digital Content Creation), CAD, Broadcast, Medical Imaging, Simulations(, etc...) - Software that is able to take advantage of the OpenGL API (Application Programming Interface) of the card.
From Maxon Cinema 4D all the way to Autodesk AutoCAD, et cetera...
Only problem is it doesent have cuda so Adobe's Mercury Playback Engine wont use it which is the main reason I suggested a workstation card to the OP. It looks pretty sick though.

Now that I think about it, there is some openGL acceleration with the adobe suite but I dont remember hearing anything good about it.

EDIT:

Thanks. I instantly fell in love with her as soon as I plugged it in. It's my first of its kind. I am genuinely impressed by its raw power.
I got it for the price of a new i7 980x and some peanuts. Definitely better than those overpriced nVidia Quadros if you ask me.
And it also workst just as good as an HD 5870 when playing games (it's based on the same architecture).

Not sure if this has already been covered, I refuse to go back and read another 10 pages of arguments.... but... did the OP end up giving us a link to mod a 480 into a perfect quattro?

I am really interested in doing this myself for my next rig.

No he didn't, or at least I didn't see it. I don't think its possible, and since he hasn't posted a link and just said "Google it" I think he made a mistake when he originally posted saying its do-able. And apparently we are looked down on for asking him how to do it, since we cant find any proof of anyone else doing it... I mean, no one is calling the OP a lair, we just want some proof, just because he says "Oh yeah 100's of people have done it look it up" Well, ok, but since non of us can find any info on it, is it so bad for us to ask for a link?

And for the whole mid-air user interface thing, isn't that already invented? (MX Air, ect.) I'm not trying to start any more arguments, i really don't care about the patents and inventions to be honest, I'm just asking if its something similar because he said he was using something from wii motes, just sounds like an air mouse from the description so far.

The reason i edit this is because i can already feel someone quoting me and taking it the wrong way. I don't want to start anymore drama that already came from people asking the OP simple questions about his build and being labeled as "Trolls", I'll admit, some people have been way out of line, but you have to expect that, and just ignore them. No need to group the people with genuine interest or advice in with the people that just hate you out of jealousy.

One thing that is driving me crazy in this thread is the percentages of 8gb.

100 percent MORE than 8gb IS 16gb

On the other hand... 100 percent OF 8gb IS 8gb

So 200 percent MORE than 8gb IS DEFINITELY 24gb

Yes, I agree. I originally misinterpreted it and thought the first number is wrong, it turns out to be the second

Basically in that same line it was also said that 200 seconds is 400% more than 50 seconds. It's not - it's 300% more

why doesn't everyone just stop talking about stuff that's not on computers and PM him or something if you want to know more. If he doesn't want to tell you then he doesn't have to and if you don't believe them then don't believe him. No one really cares.
