How is the Iphone4?

Thread Starter
my contract is reaching the second year (October 1st) and i was planning to upgrade to a Iphone 4 . Im not too paranoid about the reception crap because im going to buy a case to protect my phone so i wont have that problem.I will obviously have a DATA plan (500mbs + unlimited Facebook, twitter and MSN) I wanted to see what do iphone 4 owners think of the phone.

I don't own one but a few of my friends do. Just let me know that the iPhone is a beautiful piece of gadget. And I'm coming from a proud owner of a EVO 4G.
The first thing that struck me is the remarkable sharp screen running at 960x640 at 3.7" screen. Taking pictures with the 5mp camera is also incredible. Picture quality is near damn close to some of the digital cameras out in the market.
Its true that some people experience with the horrible antenna reception because one of my friends experiences it horribly but it was easily cured by buying a sturdy case to cover the antenna.

Now, the Evo 4G is a whole different beast............ But I should leave that to another thread.

well, im an ip4 owner, so of course i love it. so far, i have no realistic complaint. i could want something crazy like an optical zoom, but again, its just a cellphone.

as far as alleged issues, i have none of them. the reception is better than my wifes 3gs and my old 3g. the pictures are amazing.

here are a couple. one from the sf zoo. overcast day, so the washed out sky isnt fully due to the camera... although it does overexpose the sky a little sometimes. and a few random macro shot to show off the detail.

The only two problems I've been having is face time a scratchy screen. Face time is the feature where the screen randomly turns on when you're in the middle of a call and your face rolls on the screen randomly pressing buttons, right? Get a front screen protector right away as well. I'm positive even bread crumbs can scratch the screen horrendously.

If you like iOS, it's an insanely nice piece of hardware

Not a 3.7", it's a 3.5" screen.

dude do you have steel wool hands or something?

YouTube- Living With Steel Wool Hands (How I Lost My Nipple)
i've had my 4 since launch and my 3g as well and the only one that has any kind of scratches is the 3g and those arent even noticeable unless you are looking for them

and for Facetime? are you talking about the proximity sensor issues that are getting fixed in a couple days with an update?

also op:
i love mine, and i actually get better reception than on my 3g because at work i used to lose signal if i went to the cafeteria but now i can text and call

The iPhone 4 is great. HD video looks amazing and it is overall a pleasing experience. Dont worry much about the reception. free bumper anyways. I can make my Sony W518a lose reception just like the iPhone. Get the iPhone or the galaxy s if you are sticking with att
