ummmm...maybe FX-64 will comes out b4 Q1 07? It's 65nm technology so wouldn't it be good if it did?

This thread and all like them is what all the major chips companys want you guys to do. Promote there products, as far as I'm concerned I will wait to see what the public product dose, and not the enginering samples and customize conditions.

Just because the chip is a prototype, doesnt mean the performance is effected at all. If you take an Intel engineering sample CPU and take the same cpu non ES, they will perform exactly the same. ES just means its not a consumer production model. Also, there are no customized conditions. I believe there could be when the manufacturer releases results, but not a third party reviewer like anandtech. Anandtech showed proof of bios versions, and environment. They dont do anything supernatural. ES chips (intel) have one advantage, unlocked multipliers, which is the same as the AMD FX series. So technically, all FX chips are like intel ES chips, kind of.

Well, if the conroe is half the price of Fx-60 and yet it beats it even when the fx-60 was OCed, then I don't see why anyone would pay double the price for less performance.

For me..I could care less if it's AMD or Intel or hell Cyrix, If I can get the performance I want for less...I'm down and in.

I think Intel will take the lead in gaming with Conroe seeing as the E6700 at 2.66GHz beats an FX-60 at 62 speeds as bigval has already sated, and they will stay in the lead because Intel's chips will be cheap and have awsome power, and 65nm dye. But AMD is backed up by their loyal fanboys (you know who you are) but they will bring out new chips, but will debut their new achitecture chips around late 2007/ early 2008.... then we will see from there

Well... I do respect both AMD and Intel.
Why is it the Intel guys never mention Intels aquisition of AMD's tecknology?
Furthermor; Intel may get a a limited amount of Conroe units to market for the likes of Dell an noe for the likes of us this year. As reported, the limited production will increase in Q1 2007 most likely being a year from now we still wont have access to any!
So, I've not riped on Intel, just paraphrased known facts of projected production and the knowledge AMD shared with intel. Time it self will lend creadance to how well each company responds to the new and improves CPU market

Oh... BTW, anyone care to comment on Intels need to dubble the cache @ 2x2M, probably to add some more icing to the cake
