Does the 8mb cache or 16mb cache matter? - Page 2

Hard drives don't use that much power, and you shouldn't be concerned with that. They use around 50 watts...I think....

edit: actually according to this website:
http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/...power-pro.html

they use around 10-20 watts, so no worries

SATA 3Gb/s is the same as SATA-II

Also, fill out your system specs, thanks

Do you have that mobo? It's quite good, but the performance between a SATA and SATA 3.0 isn't that large...but the hard drive (seagate) and mobo you are getting are great!

SATA-II is pointless anyway unless you're benchmarking, it's not the bandwidth that matters anymore, far more than enough. If it can only read/write <150mb/s then you will not need the full 1.5 gig of bandwidth of SATA, let alone the 3 gig bandwidth of SATA-II. It is just the new technology in these drives of the actual hardware that makes it faster. SATA also supports NCQ, so there is not much of a plus for SATA-II if it is more expensive. However, it is usually only about £1 difference in some cases so you may as well get SATA-II if you can take it.

But what am I on about you only have SATA anyway, ignore me.
