BCP4 : 805C7478 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1

System reboots after about an hour, won't start again unless I totally MASTER RESET it, warm boot won't work because it hangs and says DISK BOOT ERROR, and when I DO turn it all off and back on, it stays for 20 to 90 minutes or so, then it repeats.

I have changed the OS from XP to XP PRO-64, these two systems co exists inside the same box. The XP 64 uses my sata drive, the XP an IDE I just switch by cmos settup and tell the system the "other" drive doesn't exists. This has been working for over a year, now this just started three days ago.

Does this happen to both xp and xp64 or just one? HAve you checked the integrety of your drives. Finaly reduce the hardware component down to its minimum. unplug cdr dvd only 1 hard drive, video card mouse and keyboard boot and see if the system re sets if it does the issue may be ram, mobo, or proccessor. Oh one other thing when was the last time you ran a can of air across the heatsink and other components.

I am leading towards ram. Maybe one of your ram sticks has gone bad and giving you random errors.

Yes, both XP-32 and XP-64 both crash, the XP-32 uses an IDE and the other uses only a Sata, so the OS is different, cables are different, power cords different, drivers different (sigh) Oh the last air blast was about 3 hours ago. The ONLY common denominator is the memory (Geil 1 TCCD 3200 DDR400 4 sticks of 512's, and the AMD 64 FX55 Clawhammer, and short of stealing some of my kids componants, no spares (that will fit) The power supply is about a 5 month old ANTEC 550 w/adjusting panel. Memtest86 ran for ages and says NO PROBLEMS. hmmmmm, I think I need a VERY large glass of red.

Hey man, I think it would be worth a shot to try a different PSU. It could be loosing power and also not supplying the hard drive with enough power to boot.
