PSU Help!

Thread Starter
Areet.

Could anyone please help me out on this one thanks.

the problem is i am really tight for cash, i am building a system and as most people do i'm looking for reliable products at ok prices.
Here is my rig (Red = Already got, Normal black = Buying/saving for)

1) Motherboard = Asus A8R-MVP
2) Processor = AMD Athlon 64 3200+
3) Graphics Card = ATI Sapphire X700
4) RAM = Not sure yet!!
5) Case = Aspire X Infinity
6) HDD = Maxtor 80GB SATA
7) DVD RW/CD RW/Floppy = NEC ND3550A/LG/Sony 3.5

The real question is what PSU would you recommend for a system like this?
I mean it's not exactly a brilliant build but then again its not rubbish, i did get one with my case but i don't know the make and its only like 12a on the 12 volt rail even though its 480W lol!
Can you suggest any PSU and please don't just suggest the best possible one money can buy because i haven't got that kind of money lol!, i will probably upgrade a little in the future but not for a while!
thanks a lot.

Best regards,
-Sin100

That ePower looks brilliant for the price.
20A on the 12V with 500W of power for that price, bargain.
One small problem, I'm English! i can't find it on www.dabs.com and www.ebuyer.com my two most trusted sites!

Any more PSU's people, preferably UK sites?
Thanks

retro dude just ask daddy for a increase in your allowance. And you can get him one.

As for a power supply i really like the 500 watt i am running and it was surprisingly inexpensive.

...American site but thankyou for trying.
dual 12V rails. so is that the 12V+ and 12V-??
Then you combine them together and you get the overall amps on the 12V rail?
Or am i way off?

........... what?

erm.. just found this er! why do we lash out so much money for other PSU's when this is 550W with 30Amps on the +12V rail!!! best thing is its only £20 and has 5 star reviews!

Dose anyone have any doubts about this PSU because i would really like to hear them, thanks!

There are many good replys on it!
I know nothing of the brand/quality but the demand your system requires is not very high so it should handle your needs well!
The best known name brand for the money in yor case is the ...
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=90608
but that is almost 2x the cost @ 30.36
Don't be fooled by just the Watt rating on PS.. the Antec has dual rails @ 10a & 15a for 25a total. It;s well made and has a good warrantee, offers 20/24 pin plus 4 pin, 6 pin & 2x SATA connectors. I know I have one

You could get a hiper type-r for 60 quid from here :
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...plies_123.html

I have used this company in the past for lots of stuff when I lived in the UK and never had a problem with them.

I've also bought stuff from these guys and they are even cheaper for the hiper 580, under 60 quid incl. VAT.(thats cheaper than I paid over here in the USA!!)
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...uid=149&stid=2

Hope that helps old chap.

Edit: the above are not links to any specific psu's just links to two uk vendors psu pages.
