hello. new to these forums... anyway... kind of like 2 q's here... i have an nforce 430 w/built in 6150 graphics and i also have a 6200 pci-e card installed. i mainly play heroes of might and magic 5 at the moment (i know, i know, why did i visit an oc forum for that petty board game?) but anyway, this card SUCKS. it practically freezes up and slows the whole system down to a crawl if it goes above 50 celsius. i think that's why the guy who started this thread is worryiong about it, as am i. maybe i should just use my 6150 IGP for stratgey games? anything above very low + 800x600 and the game gradually dies, i.e. stops functioning correctly, lags, makes strange humming noises, etc, NOT normal or even PLAYABLE. btw i have an xfx version of 6200 pci-e w/turbocache. stupid BS lol. also, when i try and hook up dual moinitors or crt + TV using s-video, no matter what configuration i use, i can not get it to work. tried both igp and pci-e at once, tried both in 6200, etc etc. this is a HUGE disappointment after pawning off my 6600GT MSI w/zalman fan and upgrading to 939. i also have an opteron 144 as my cpu, maybe that would explain crappy performance at times? and finally will UNDERCLOCKING my 6200 solve these crappy overheating/bad performance issues? so far it hasn't helped one bit... oh well. hope someone can help me soon, please?

Turbocache version uses your system memory for graphics stuff. That's probably about as slow as using the onboard one.

Fill in your system specs in the control panel, and people will have a better idea of what's causing your woes.

================================================== ===
Oh, and...my last card was an Asus N6600 256mb 300/500mhz OC'd to 480/580mhz. It idle'd 38C, and load temps were about 48C. My current card(BFG 7800GS) idles ~44C, and I haven't checked out the temps in stressful games yet. This is all with stock cooling.

Hmm, is my cooling good if I'm running dual 6600GT's and they idle at 30*C and on rare occasions break 43*C? I thought it was pretty good. Dopefisher try some Zalman Cooling, I use it. I've got the Zalman VF-700Cu with the VGA ram heatsinks on one of the cards, while the other gets the air intake of the CPU's CNPS-9500 as well as it's own stock cooling. Next to both the cards also lies a ~60mm window case fan intake, maybe you should get a setup something similair to this? I highly reccommend you trying these two products.

Wow...that's an old post to dig up.

Anyway...some google employees released some papers with failure statistics for hard drives. Apparently HDDs actually like warmer temps, since they fail less with inadequate cooling. 45C is right around the sweet spot for long life, but drives can handle anything up to 60C without worry. 30-40C actually made failure rates worse, very slightly.
