Just grab the cheapest one if you're not going to OC them.

Not the cheapest, but good timings.

Any 2 3 2 5 kit that works with your motherboard. If you're not overclocking it, it's pretty easy to select the best performance. Simply look at the timings and what you see is what you get. They're guaranteeing you that they will run at that speed with those timings. The OCZ Platinum kit I have is nice if you don't need over 240 mhz and at stock speeds, it'll run 2 3 2 5 1T. You can probably find a kit on sale with identical timings though. If you're not gonna overclock, you don't need any overheard. For what it's worth, I run my OCZ sticks at 230 mhz 2.5 3 2 7 1T on 2.7V

Platinum are made for OCing, and they put extra bucks on those sticks. The Gold series are basically the same, just OC alot worse because theyre optimized for running at stock speeds. I would rather go for some OCZ Gold

My friend decided to go with these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231047
which would probably oc pretty well but he's running a socketA soyo kt600 dragon and it won't oc fer $#|+. He's also not upgrading until AM2 has been around for a year so he doesn't need anything to carry over to the next rig.

Not sure where you got your information, the OCZ Gold cost more and have worse timings at 200 mhz. Plat is $141.99 after rebate w/ 2 3 2 5 timings, Gold is $169.99 after rebate w/ 2 3 3 8 timings
