New! Quad Core CPUs! - Page 2

THey don't have to code specifically for dual core...they code for MULTIPLE cores. So, if the software can split stuff into threads and reassemble them...mulltiple cores will help no matter how many there are.

Do you think that the prices of single cores and dual cores will start to drop?

Not even dual cores are good for us gamers....because I haven't seen much games that are dual cores supported anyways, "it's not cool that when they give you only one dumbell and yet you need 2 to workout both arms same time....because they only give 1 dumbell for each person in the gym." You can't even have 2 cores works as like RAID 0 nor SLI for games....unless im seeing patterns like Raids 0, dual monitors, sli, dual cores.....I think they should have dual laser DVD RW drives<< off topic

Well DX10 will use dual core, and it should come out a bit before Crysis (since Crysis will use DX10 apparently) so its coming pretty much sooner then you might think. But I agree, Quad Core will be of great use for servers since they wont have to buy as many computer but I dont think its going to be worth the price for gamers. I also doubt the price for the double core will drop because of this since well like I said I think its going to be mainly used for servers... Tho single cores will surely drop, isn't it dropping already anyway?

Now that I think of it, that might mean lower cost for MMORPG since they wont need as many servers...!

How do you know that DX10 will use dual core? Do you have a link?

Well DX9 can use dual core, and DX10 naturally will use dual core as well.
