Funny.

But it would be way more meaningful if they showed how many people are initiating a browsing session to surf the net vs. time as well. I mean, maybe people use private browsing all the time, and just initiate a new session of FF to browse the net in general--the private browsing plot could also be identical to the number of people surfing the net in the first place.

I love how people jump at the assumption that people are looking at porn at work. Private browsing mode isn't going to protect you from being found out while browsing porn sites at work in the first place...for many reasons, lol.

Anyhoo, if you read more at the source blog, you will find out that the duration of private browsing sessions doesn't change much throughout the day--so likely people are just using private browsing most of the time they use FF, and it's just the case that more people start browsing the net around their lunch times. I mean, think about it--most people are doing actual work before and after lunch, and how often does someone leave a browsing session open at a time--well, unless perusing the forums on OCN, that is...

How private is private browsing really...
If you navigate to the blog, where FB took the partial story from:

Note: Test Pilot is an opt-in service for Firefox 4 Beta users. We would never record a user’s activity for any reason unless they explicitly signed up for this study. Again, we do not record any information at all during a user’s private browsing session – only when a user enters or exits.
