video edit questions about nvidia

Hey guys, I know this is mostly a gamers and overclocking forum but i know theres a lot of you who probably play around with video editing as well... a few questions.

I just got a HP media center desk top with a lowly 6200 turbo card in it...
i use premiere pro to edit video and the 6200 seems pretty slow even compared to my old ATI 9600 card built into my laptop...

1. Anyway, Im thinking of upgrading to the nvidia 7600GT card. I know i would see dramatic improvement with 3D games but will i see a good improvement with video editing?

2. What is VIVO and is it a feature I should have if Im into video editing?

Anyother advice would be appreciated...

btw for anyone else that got a HP recently and are crashing your computer everytime you start Premiere, u need to download the latest REALTEK HD sound drivers... thats what is causing the crashes.

Peace

Yes you will see a major difference moving up to a 7600 ..VIVO is video in/ video out .so it will also act as a capture card....Hp and most other proprietry machines are frowned upon (not to say they are crap) because they dont allow anysort of overclocking

Search on the HP website the exact model and you'll probably find the specs of your PSU.

Damn... The BFG 7800GT i just ordered says minimum 350 watt power supply...

the HP comp i got seems to have a 300 watt ASUS P5LP-LE

What do I risk happening if I put the 7800 GT in? Will it work or am i gonna fry something in the comp?

Jeez.. maybe I shouldnt have bought this HP!

ive been reading up on this for a couple of hours now and its strange...

the same HP comp is available with an ATI X1600 XT graphics card and the specs ive read for the ATI card also say 350 watt power supply highly recommended for system stability...

does anyone know what would happen if I put in the 9600GT graphics card into my HP? thanks
