Hi guys this is my first post here!

I was wondering which card to get:

1. Club 3D Radeon x800rx 174€
2. Asus Radeon x800pro 210€

I would like to get the max out of these cards of course by flashing the bios.(if i understood it right ) so is getting the pro for some more money worth it? (I still have to go on a expensive vacation in 3 months )

Greetings and thanks for the advise

The X800Pro has 12 pipelines, that's why it cost a little more and the RX has only 8.....My opinion: Go for the X800Pro.

The club 3D card is a x800GT, you can find a review here:
http://www.elitebastards.com/page.php?pageid=12175

They say (among others) all the RXes are based on r480 cores, wich means that in theory half thepipes on the GPU can be reactivated to have a full x800XT. Anyway, the R480 OCs a lot, so for me the choice is clear: Club 3D x800RX

I assume you are talking PCI-e here.

Why not look at the SAPPHIRE X800GTO2.......... it will outperform both of above and you will be surprised at the cost.

Neither, go with the Sapphire x800 GTO2.....with a little elbow grease and minimal tinkering....it will outrun the 850 xt platinum edition. If you get that one, PM me and i'll tell you how to unlock the pipelines and wring the performance out of that budget beast.....

EDIT: dang xie67, you beat me to it.

We are talking about AGP sorry

On the Club3d site they talk about the 420 core and in the elite bastards review about a 480 core :s
http://www.club-3d.com/productshow_v...=&filter=&l=en
Maybe the PCI express only has a 480 core and the AGP a 420.

and unfortunatly the sapphire isnt available in the netherlands anymore. THese are the only 2 cards that are good and available.

According to this the asus has a 420 core:
http://www.hothardware.com/viewartic...?articleid=533

So if they both have 420 core which card has the best price/performance and moddibility?

the x800rx is most likely not going to open any pipes with a flash. Most GT type x800's do not unlock, the best i ever saw was a few opened up to 12p. I would stick with the pro they had more success at unlocking and even if it doesn't 12p guaranteed is better tha the rx's 8. I would get the Powercolor GTO as it is also a pro style 12p card, and i have always had good experience with their customer support.
