Video play back issues

I don't know where to put this, I guess its a software issue

Any type of video I watch is causing a strange problem where my monitor turns off and on at random intervals. DVD, MPEG, WMV...they all do it. I use Windows Media Player and VLC player, I use FFD Show codec and I have InterVideo DVD player plugin. I have tried:

Different graphics drivers (now on 84.25)
Updating monitor drivers
Removing Windows theme (was Longhorn Inspirat, now on basic XP skin)
Removing FFD Show codec
Removing InterVideo plugin and just using VLC to play a DVD
Closed ALL background programs but Nod32

Whats wrong? :swearing: This current computer around the DFI motherboard is the buggiest I've built in a long time

Long shot but worth a try,

I had a simular problem with Windows locking up with black screen of death when trying to watch video or tasking, inturn having to reboot to get it to work.

It turned out to be a program called Window Blinds or Desktop Blinds. Cant remember the name really.

Maybe if you are folding at the same time its causing a bug. I had that issue the other day.

If its just a flicker(off\\on) in a second its the monitor resynking and adjusting to your current video mode wether gaming or watching a video.

I have a Viewsonic that does this and was concerned due to it has done it from the start(out of the box) and my other one doesn't.
I called Viewsonic and this is what I was told it was.

The monitor has not done it before on my previous setup, and it only started today on this one. Anyway, this isn't the only problem I have now. Things dying all over the place I sent it to sleep for the night by ripping the plug out of the wall. It can sit in the corner have a little think over what its done and maybe play nice in the morning :/

Just another thought:

When i was running analog and went to digital. I notice my monitor would flicker off and on really quick like it was adjusting something when i run movies or games.
It never did it in analog.

Just a thought
