Inconsistent Windows Loading Time - Page 3

chdisk /r = scandisk and repair (/r) is useful if your hdd has bad sectors, but if it ain't that a fresh win install should do the trick. As far as I an tell it is a soft related problem. It could be anything the others mentioned: bad win install, virus, bad drivers, corrupt files. Try something:
-format c: (or whaterever your OS is)
-install win
-search for viruses on the remainning partitions
You should be fine after these. If this doesn't work change the install kit (cd) for the win and do one more time the things I just said. Cheers mate!

I was saying that if you format C:, you will lose all your data. I think it's a component.
One advice:
you may try, if you installed Windows with a CD, to run that CD, and to find the thing that says something like "compability test", do not attempt any install yet, just use the application located somewhere on the CD that could be accessed from the MENU.

ChkDsk /r is a test, that you enter in RUN, and when you will reboot, the application will scan the harddrive and will check if I remember 5 things, like avaible space, used space.... but my idea is that if the hard disk has a problem, it could be reported in the test, but this do not remove data.

ya my sugestion would be switch 2 OS X but thats my solution 2 alot of things...even if it has nothin 2 do with the problem...ok now that thats out of the way....if u have an extra dirve lyin about...make a copy of ur problem disk and then reformat it...that way u still have all ur files and can run a virus check after u get a workin system...then do a clean install of windows...(have all drivers and such reddily handy) and that should get rid of all of ur issues if its software realated...sry for any misspellins...i failed spellin and never really cared...

OS X do you mean MAC's Operating system? If yes, no, OS X suks. You have no control of your computer, you can forget about run, command prompt, you can't explore the hard drive, the drivers, OS X is for kids computing. Also almost no applications are supported by OS X and maybe not even the hardware, so OS X would be the worse OS to change to.
