Any advice for a rookie

Thread Starter
I am new here and have been searching for answers. I purahased a piece of junk Compaq a while back, and have been slowly upgrading it. I can't access any processor or memory settings in my bios. It just shows what is installed and is grayed out. I also don't know what my next upgrading steps should be. It will probably be a new MoBo, but I don't know. My profile has my system info. Anty tips for increasing my gaming performance would be appreciated. Lastly, does anyone know the best way to figure out a good overclock for my vid card using a program like powerstrip?

atitool is very good tool for overclocking vid cards, if the mobo your currently using is the stock one that came with ur compaq you wont have any access to those options.

I was afraid of that. Is it possible if I change the jumpers or anything?

Time for a different MB simply because what software that is availble to OC in WIndows is buggy and wont save your settings each time you power down>
If you care to try Soft OCing check www.cpuid.com for clockgen.
