OC'ing 6600GT Mem Clock- HELP!!!!

Thread Starter
I am trying to OC my eVGA eGeForce 6600GT 256MB PICe card but cant seem to increase my mem **** frequency.

I can push my core clock frequency up and have it at 565 right now, but can’t seem to get the mem clock past the 1000 default that it came with. It wont seem to pass the test

I was told that since these cards come with 128 Bit 2NS DDR memory, I won’t be able to push to past the 1000 mark and I am not sure if it’s true.

Can this cards mem frequency be pushed any further? /

I am using nForce 81.98.

Any help would be appreciated...

it might be that you have bad video memory...it wont let you pass it? \\

if your absolutely sure that it can pass without damaging..you can disable internal clock test in riva power user to pass that

I had a similar problem with my 6600 GT, at one point I couldn't overclock the GPU from the stock 500 but always did 1200 memory.

For 3DMark05 I was able to get 585/1200 but then reformatted the system and forgot to overclock the card so when it came time to run 3DMark06 the GPU's core would not overclock, only memory.

Maybe need to do a fresh Windows install? I tried the driver clearner thing and it never worked, so.....
