Ok, a poll has now been added for the following names:

• Boinc Bash
• CRUNCHathon
• BOINCers gone Bonkers
• BONICAROO

Poll will end on Monday.


Well, we hope to get the thread up for a BOINC marathon shortly, and it'll be pretty similar to the Foldathons; 2 days where everyone goes all out to get as many points as possible. However, we don't wanna just copy the Foldathon and stick BOINC in front of it. That's not creative at all.

So, get your thinking caps on; we'd like to see some suggestions for the event. If all goes well, it'll be held every month, so this is a chance to have your title known to all OCN BOINCers.

We'll decide the winner this weekend, then post the thread soon after.


Oh, and please keep things civil. You see Mort over there in the shadows? *points*
He'll come after you with a hammer if you're not careful.

A 5-day Pentathlon could work... though 5 different projects? Isn't that what Project of the Month is for? This would be to get as many credits as possible overall...

I think OCN's average is 3-3.1mil a day? So for 5 days, we should be looking to get 16-17mil at least. If we focus on 5 different projects, is that doable?

While I do like the name BOINCathon, we have received a few PM's regarding the likelihood of it (the threads) getting trolled pretty bad.

What if we used a BOINC based term - like CRUNCHathon, or similar?

Personally I think the BOINC event should allow anyone to crunch on which ever project they wish. It is clear that some people like to crunch their own projects and we don't want to deter them. I'd be inclined to set the rules similar to the Foldathon where you crunch for 48 hours, no restrictions on clients (for folding) or projects (for BOINC). Though, let me/zodac know if you guys object - this is an event for you.
