ATI X1900 XTX 512mb?? - Page 2

The real difference between the two is in heat production and power consumption. The 7900 actually performed better as far as thermal output and power consumption, according to tests that HARDOCP had conducted.

Well from what I hear, Vista is using DirectX10??? Am I right guys? And that wouldn't be a DirectX10 card obviously. Sooo, I would think Vista would be backwards compatible (if not, well have lots of problems, heh.) Can anyone else clear this up a little better for us?

Any card is "Vista Compatible", it's all marketing. My 7800GTX could run Aero Glass no problem.

Any card with decent capability can run Vista(I can no problem), but DX10 will ship with Vista, and the current cards are DX9. I'd wait on upgrades untill Vista comes out, because then we'll get the DX10 GPU's.

Vista will work with all DX9 cards.

And Id go for an X1900XT since its more than $100 less and you can just OC it to XTX speeds.
Very nice!

$599 - 40% = $360. Can you really get the XTX for that price?

Damn, I wish I could get that much off.

For the games I play, definitely the ATI X1900XTX is the best and I sure consider it better than the 7900 GTX.....power and heat? no problem, that's what fans are for.

Can you get two X1900XTX? Like to help a fellow overclocker for a future CrossFire set-up?

i also get this same discount as an employee of circuit city. if you guys want that make friends with a Circuit city employee . most people who work there dont even care about computers and probally wouldnt care about getting you guys one. im thinkin about buying 2 and running 2 in crossfire.
