Then something's wrong with the settings on the X-Fi. No onboard should be able to even compare to that card. Hell, my $30 Sound Blaster Live! blows most onboard sound away.

That definately should not be. You can play with the settings if you want. Try turning up the bass and turning down the trbel in the mixer if you so desire, but it should sound perfect right out of the box.

alc850 is garbage my board had it until i got audigy zs 2 easily destinguishable which is better. Anything but onboard gives more vibrant crisp sound.
