Overclock Opteron 165 with a DFI (Genie).

Thread Starter
I'm a first time AMD overclocker. I haven't overclocked in years and it seems things are a bit more complicated. I just built a new system and supposedly I should be able to OC it fairly nicely, but I'm having some trouble.

Specs:
AMD Opteron 165 Denmark @ stock 1.8ghz
DFI Lanparty SLI-DR
2x1 Gig Corsair XMS in dual channel
XFX Geforce 7900 GT
WD 250g 16mb SATA
Onboard Audio
Rosewill 500w RE502
Aluminum Coolermaster Wavemaster case

In the Genie BIOS settings, I see many different voltage and timing settings, but they aren't named the same. After reading some guides, I'm still having difficulty with OCing. Can anyone suggest which settings (using Genie BIOS terms) I should be adjusting? Thanks.

I can't get it to load the OS at 210 FSB. I've tried increasing voltage, lowering multiplier and increasing FSB, increasing DRAM v., changing timings, ect. What am I doing wrong? 210FSB should be easy unless I'm mistaken.

Welcome to the OC.net forum.

You will need to do some reading and testing on your MB, CPU and Memory to see where each will run and then bring them together.

Work through the FAQs - links in my sig, to make sure the MB is powered correctly and to find the Max of each key component.
