ATi X1900 AIW

Ok I've been looking to go back to an AIW card for awhile but I didnt really like the x1800 series, but this seems to be my bag. I've been looking around at some different reviews and specs. One thing made me wonder, now I never really trust the NewEgg reviews but one said this card could be used in a Crossfire setup. No I dont really need it as I really only play source engine games as well as CODUO and COD2. and a little BF2 but not too much. But if this was able to be a crossfire capable card it would really seal the deal as it could be somewhat future proof for me. Anyway I really just want people's opinions on this card and if anyone knows about its crossfire future?

Dude, really sorry but currently the AIW cards are not CrossFire capable... it is however a possibility that in the future that ATI will tweak its drivers to enable a software bypass of the NorthBridge on its RD580 chipset to allow cards to be run in CrossFire without dongles and completely over the dual x16 pci-e lanes. ATi reported this to be possible a few weeks ago with its x1800 line, I see no reason for this not to be possible with other lines (x1900 inclusive). However, I do admit that dual x1900 cards would take quite a lot of bandwidth to power crossfire directly over the PCI-e cards...

Long story short... for now, no.... but keep holding out and it might be possible. Better yet, if you're a programmer or know someone who can program drivers make a temporary solution .

Yeah I heard they were able to get rid of the dongle on the new chipset and since crossfire doesnt need identical cards I thought they might be working on it. I just couldnt find any solid answer to crossfire with the AIW cards. Thanks.

Another thing, I know that that a 512 card makes a huge difference in newer games but how much more would I expect on the source engine over a 256 card?
