I've alway seen Nintendo as an exentric company... Nintendo is the Apple of video game. They are both not the biggest, they are both not the most popular. today. BUT they both were there first, they both used to be the biggest. They are also the ones who bring first all the new stuffs, the revolutions, and they alway get plagiarized, exemple : Nintendo was the very first to put a non-analog stick on their game controller (N64), Sony stole the idea and released a new controller with 2 joystick on them. Apple were the first one with the intention of making a fully fonctionnal OS using the revolutionary mouse. The idea was stolen by Bill Gate who then stole the market from them.

Also Nintendo and Apple are like sacred stuff to their dedicated fanbase. Those who like them, really see them as mighty god. You might even say that the fanbase include the most elitist people of the whole freaking universe, go and say to someone who have a Mac that "X thing dont seem to work very well with macs" and you'll face something new. Go say to someone who just plainly in love that "X thing Nintendo done is stupid" and you'll get a similar face from the said person .

Their also both money hunger sons of a ***** and often dont take care of the one who love them. Selling game that you wont have access to every options unless you buy something else like a GBA with another game with a GBA adaptor or get some e-reader crap even tho there was no actual need to do so since they could have perfectly integrate all the options in the original game is a perfect exemple in the case of Nintendo, look if I pay 50$ for a freaking game I want to have acess to every single bits of information on the DVD without having to buy for 300$ more stuff. Or Apple with their crap they give you when you buy a Ipod and then offer to sell seperatly all what is missing at insane price, a new Ipod holding case in hardwood for 200$? Yah right cause after paying 300$ for the Ipod I really dont expect to have something decent to hold it...

And their both moving on the good path for chaning with Nintendo offering complete retrocompatibility of ALL its previous consoles on the Revolution and Apple finally showing progress and making effort to become more compatible with Windows OS.

And finaly but none less Nintendo and Apple both have Microsoft as their enemy, I think they should make an alliance together.

Now; Nintendo is NOT a kid console. Now that something that really piss me off when I hear that. Because Nintendo is the company who made the best damn platform game of all history of gaming they are a kid industry? Please. You want to know why people see Nintendo as a kid console? Because Nintendo was the only one arround worth checking when they were kids and now today every time they hear about Nintendo their subsconcious remember all the great fun hours they had playing the good ol' NES. Of course it was childish, its sort of hard to make a game not look childish in 8bits, peoples had a different mentality too (Yes, things have changed a lot in 20 years), seing blood in a video game? No, just no, that was inconceivable so even if it would have been 8 bits blood it would have been censured everywhere. Nintendo is not a kid company stop saying that it just make you sound stupid, Concker Bad Fur Day was a kid game maybe? Yah that right, the game was out on N64 before Xbox you know. If it was Sony or Microsoft that would have been the first one and Nintendo the new comer, people would see Sony/Microsoft as the kid company because their own memory would tell them so, "I played with the products of this company when I was a kid, most be a kid company".

Great you discovered bump mapping! Your point? With the way the specs are shaping up for nintendo bump mapping isn't really going to do much for nintendo. Its visual quality will be no where near 360 or PS3.

360 and PS3 are also going to use bump mapping and HDR and all that other good stuff. Except its going to be at a much higher resolution, with more polygons, better lighting effects, and overall superior than anything Revolution will do graphically.

Im not trying to say the games will look bad, Nintendo is just simply not appealing to flashy graphics.

Nintendo dont try to do "realistic" graphic either if you noticed. They tend to use "chibi" style, a.k.a "the cutest possible", the self shading on GameCube is a good exemple of this, Viewtiful Joe and Wind Waker look great and they dint needed to use hundred of thousand of polygon or HDR with bump maping with motion blur and whatever. Sometime a simple approach is the best. .. ... And there is no point to compare the Revolution to a console like PS3, those who regulary go to the E3 know how much Sony is full of it, they announced the PS2 like if it was going to be a huge gaming revolution and the result wasnt even close as half as impressive then what they announced, and now they are doing it again for the PS3...

The only first party game that I can think of that used connectivity was Wind Waker. The rest were 3rd party's. And besides, no one complained that I saw about Suikoden. To get all the characters in both Suikoden 1, and Suikoden 2 you needed to have both games and a save file and load them up and wallah you have the extra characters.

But on the topic of Sony stealing.. Yeah. D-pad, analog joystick, and on some pictures of the alleged PSP2 they have a stylus.. That uses the main screen. WONDER where ya got that from lol. But really, Nintendo has made more money then Sony and Microsoft during this last gen. They may not have sold as many, but they got more money since they actually made a profit off of each unit sold, along with accessories. While with the PS2 and Xbox accessories had to be bought to compensate for losses, and 3rd party games gave them a little bit of money, but not alot.

Actually Sony made a great deal more money than Nintendo during the last generation. 60 million PS2 have been sold worldwide while Xbox and Gamecube sales combined total less than 20 million. One reason people view the Gamecube as a children's console is because 65% of all its games are E rated (yes that is an actual fact not something I made up).

Proof? And no, Sony didnt. They may have sold alot, but they sold the PS2 at a loss. How do you make a profit off of a loss?

Analog joysticks were around on the PC years before the N64. Any serious gamer had one. I had one attached to my 25 MHz 486, they were probably around in the 386 days as well.

Xerox invented the mouse, Apple stole it from them.

Before you go off on a long rant, you might want to get your facts straight.

And yeah, Nintendo is a kid's console. That is the market they are trying to sell to. Just cuz some old fart you know loves mario, doesnt mean the consoles are aimed at 50 year olds. Just because a game is good, and is played by people of all generations, doesnt mean it wasnt AIMED at children. And no, 3 or 4 titles like "Resident Evil" and "Conker's bad fur day" dont make it suddenly an X rated console. The simple fact is that it is AIMED at children. Even the nes was aimed at children, because back then the market was solely aimed at children, and they didnt see the market expanding to the multigender, race and age market as it is now.

And dont say i dont like then NES. I would die for that console And the 64 was good too, but their latest offerings have been weak.
