And no, 3 or 4 titles like "Resident Evil" and "Conker's bad fur day" dont make it suddenly an X rated console. The simple fact is that it is AIMED at children. Even the nes was aimed at children, because back then the market was solely aimed at children, and they didnt see the market expanding to the multigender, race and age market as it is now.

And dont say i dont like then NES. I would die for that console And the 64 was good too, but their latest offerings have been weak.
They arnt marketed to little kids. They are marketed to people. What games are kiddy? Or what makes a game "kiddy"? The graphics? New gameplay? What about the BARBIE games on the PS2? Really, i dont know how anybody can say Nintendo is kiddy. It you try to justify it with "pokemon" then whatever, maybe Nintendo just offers a broader range of games to a broader audience, which = more money.

this is an excerpt from a post i did a while ago, since i didnt feel like typing it for the millionth time.

i am really sick of the myth that nintendo products are for little kids. i am sure metroid prime which is renowned as one of the most graphically impressive games of all time or resident evil which is one of the best selling games last year, or castlevania ds game or mk or metroid hunters were made for kids. smash bros. oh yea thats soooo a kids game. hell...zelda windwaker which was considered another solid installment of the zelda series and won numerous game of the year awards, even though lots of whiny people are like "oh it's cell shaded... waaaaaaa", wasn't intended for kids who play pokemon. show me the "kid" who can play zelda or metroid. mario games are very entertaining and challenging... if you have an open mind (pokemon is another story... that stuff is just lame). what makes a game a kiddie game? if it is how hard it is, then nintendo doesnt make kiddie games. if it is the themes then again, nintendo isnt a kidde system. i dont see who you can justify saying that nintendo is a kids system.

You sure that isn't an April Fool's article? It was posted on April 1, all of the people being quoted are "self proclaimed analysts", and the majority of the quotes are consist of typical fanboy rhetoric. I mean, what analyst uses l33t speak and says "w00t"?

Im witjh Vulcan, also what kind of "analyst" calls himself "Miyamoto_Mojo"?

Nintendo bias much? LMAO almost 98% an April fools prank, I mean you can like the Revolution all you want but if you think its going to be on top in this round of consoles then you can just keep on wishing. And yes you can quote me on saying that Revolution will be a distant third place behind PS3 and Xbox 360 in terms of sales from the get-go all the way until this generation of consoles is dead and the next gen is out.

Nintendo is LARGELY aimed at younger audiences, you can see that in their millions of Mario and Zelda titles (how anyone can even sit down and play that crap is beyond me, I cannot stand them for the life of me.) however older people do still play Nintendo products.

IMO Playstation is aimed at the broadest audience with Xbox being geared towards the sports game and violent game crowd as well as those who want the best graphics (console wise) while Nintendo's products have been aimed at kids hence their lower price and their onslaught of sequels that only a child would keep on buying, I mean honestly how many godd*mn Mario rehashes are you guys gonna stand for? LMAO innovation my foot.

Young people nowdays don't now squat about gameplay and judge a game only on how good it looks. Today's youth reduced attention span prevents them from playing an involved and intricate game, that is why all the current emphazis on graphics. That is why older more concious gamers prefer Nintendo and other old school game developers. That and nostalgia. That said, I believe Nintendo will always be around no matter what. So what if the Revolution doesn't have the same power as its competition. Everyone knows that it's all in the gameplay. If you don't see it this way then you belong with the little autistic kids with short atention span that get excited by the moving glowing dots in the screen.

(This post is a purely sarcastic statement and should not be taken seriously, except for the importance of gameplay. I have been hanging around the RPG Codex forums a little too much )

I thought that about sega though... I think it is good tyo have lots of competition in the console market, but nintendo do appeal to the younger gamer. Nintendo during and before the 64 stage was cool, really enjoyed their stuff.
