7900GT: Unlocking the Beast Within - Page 4

Well..i think the clock speed will be more beneficial than the ram at this point....

It;s like a 6200 with 512 v a 6800 with 128....when you have a better core, the memory amounts fall by the wayside.

I m also curious about solutions like this for the 7800gt, I know it s a different core, but ... anyways, I cant get mine to overclock at all. I ve got the nv silencer5 rev 3 and even coolbits' "optimal settings" is too much, 15 minutes into fear it will lock up unless at stock levels? Any ideas? Can this article help us with the 7800gt?

If you don't know the basics of electonics and the proper use of a meter then don't go trying to do these mods yourself. By all means do the mod but get help from an experienced person. I don't think you want to destroy your vid card.

tuchan, we will do what we want in our own stupidity. we are (mostly) grown men and we know the consequences of doing things like this, but we wouldnt be asking how to do this if we didnt want to do it. i (and maybe all you guys) are balls to the walls kinda people and i want to volt mod my card. i am asking for help, not someone telling me that im going to ruin my card. my money, my card. mind your own business.
thank you

So pretty much you just right on the resistor with a pencil to decrease the resistance? Sweet!

Ok, in the picture it only shows you one place to put the mutlimeter... You need two points to complete the circuit and check the voltage. Where do you put the other needle?

Finally, i have unleash the beast.....the 7900gt is sick guys, i raised the core to 725mhz from 550mhz, but i only gain 2000 benchmark points for aquamark 3...i think the core could go alot higher maybe to 1.0 gig, but that require some xtreme cooling. since my card is on water and it IDLE around 42C and 49C loaded.
